I'm so glad Russel said he views the red pill as love and understanding. So many others interpret it with a negative connotation and place themselves into further divisive groups: "wimin bad", "men are scum", right wing, left wing, vax or unvax.. For me, the red pill is about letting go of bias and striving for compassion especially since there seems to be so little of it now.

If you’ve seen the version of “The Matrix” from the box set of the original trilogy, there is an option to watch the film with commentary from a series of philosophers from modern Universities. It’s amazing and they go deep into the ideas introduced in the films. If you like philosophy, it’s a gem.

When I saw the matrix I was in some very unhealthy relationships andsituations. It started a process in my mind. My father died the next year. That woke me to the fact that I don't have unlimited time. It took seven years to change all my situations. It was not without pain or remorse. Even to this day. Today I am in a very good place and work to stay there.

The awesome thing about the Matrix is that it entertains on all levels of understanding.

If you are pretty blue pilled, its still an amazing action movie, which is the lowest takeaway you can get.

I've watched the series a few times, several years apart, and my understanding of it always shifts to mean something else than it did before.

The character was "Cypher". The scene where he's eating dinner with Agent Smith and Cypher says, "ignorance is bliss" is such a profound part of the movie. This part, as well as the character of Cypher, is showing us that there are those that, even when knowing the truth, they will still choose the lie. They will choose to live in the comfort of the made up fake fantasy world that's presented to them rather than facing the battles that come with knowing the truth. It's showing how our dependency on the "system" and the lies we choose to believe are so substantial that even when presented with the truth, people will still choose to to live within the lie. Scary how real that sh*t is. 🔥
