I’m Dr. Dana Brems, also known as Foot Doc Dana. As a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), I treat everything from trauma including broken bones, other sports injuries, foot wounds, calluses, thick or ingrown nails; you name it! Being a #doctor is a serious job, but we can have a lighthearted side too. That's why I created this channel- to make medical themed #shorts / #TikTok videos for fun, while also helping to answer your questions.

Fun fact: there is a thing called a slip on shoe

I've never met someone in my life that doesn't tie their shoes loosely enough to do that😂

Ok, so what if my laces are tied so tight that it’s literally hurting my foot, and I can still do this 🤨

I always do that. I just put on and remove my shoes with out undoing the laces since I was 3rd grade. My laces are untied once in a while so I don't face a lot of problem. Life hack for me

I tie my shoes literally like a couple times every few months. I work in them and I’ve had zero issues. I just slip them on and off until they get loose and then re tie them

I gotta stop getting $15 Walmart shoes. The 2 modes of the laces are no blood flow or croc in non sports mode

Okay? Now you have to pick up your shoes by bending down. What's your life hack for that? 😅😂

I always listen to doctors...but I am not gonna tie them tighter.

Unless you're running or kicking or something, you don't need your shoes to be tight. Them being a little looser is easier to deal with. They're not so loose as to slip off when walking.

Also, most back problems are caused by bending forward to tie your shoes. Why not cross your legs? Rest one leg on the other and tie or untie the shoe

1. You underestimate how much my feet swell.

2. Anyone who struggles to bend and twist deserves shoes too.

3. My alternative is slip-ons that aren't as rigid.

Explain how that is better than a shoe that I can pop off using a ton of leverage from a shoe remover. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Honestly pretty much all shoes I wear I think are tight enough, but im usually still able to take them off without untying them

Not true for some shoes. If you wear Vans so you have to tie them each time - means you’re wearing them wrong! Facts 😂 🥰
