✰ 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐌𝐄 ✰
I’m Dr. Dana Brems, also known as Foot Doc Dana. As a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), I treat everything from trauma including broken bones, other sports injuries, foot wounds, calluses, thick or ingrown nails; you name it! Being a #doctor is a serious job, but we can have a lighthearted side too. That's why I created this channel- to make medical themed #shorts videos for fun, while also helping to answer your questions.

As someone who spent months in physiotherapy bc of a tight achilles tendon, I recommend following this advice :)

Doesn't the same apply to any heeled shoe? I stretch my achilles on a stair at night after wearing any shoe that adds height.

I am studying to make specialised soles and shoes (like arch supports) and if you have a heel that is this high (more than 10 mm) it is better to bring it down to zero at least past the Lis Franc line preferably towards your toes. (But the highest I've ever seen a heel getting recommended is 20 mm and that was a very special case so be careful)

But doc, my friend has uneven leg height due to accident. He wears this on one, and it seemed to relieve him

To the people saying these are basically just high heels. Yes and no. While heels are like this, heels bend at the balls of the foot like your fert naturally do when walking or when tip toeing. While these, bend in the middle of the foot which is just. Ow

I think that might be my issue, I used to stand on my toes when I was younger (or just generally the front of my foot) and now my Achilles tendon hurts alot when I'm going down stairs, walking or running

So does high heels; plus early midtarsal joint arthritis!

Same with all regular heel use. They're terrible for your feet and legs people!

I need to get these, but not because im short, but because my Achilles tendons are short and walking in normal shoes is a pain
