This video is just going over some tutorials I did while learning godot and giving my opinion on them. It is not that serious, all of the videos mentioned were great. :)

Awesome content! I'm also new to Game Dev, had a nice game idea for over a year, and decided to finally learn game dev. I tried the brackets tutorial, but it seems to be for people who are already familiar with game engines. I'm planning to take an udemy course

The brackeys tutorial has several issues, mostly in how he sets up his node structures and code.
It is not extendable and can lead to bugs.
As a beginner tutorial it can teach you godot, but it's not enough on its own. It makes sense that is not done in the best/most optimal way because it's meant to teach, and it would otherwise confuse new users.
So in short: it's a good start, but you need to keep learning from there and understand that it's not perfect.

Thank you for this summary. I have been thinking of moving out Unity (as I learned a lot, when I felt ready to create a game, BAM unity new terms). Thinking of moving to Godot, and this was helpful.

In my opinion I like the Godotneers channel which helped me learn GDScript and GodotTutorials GDScript fundamentals which is also really good. Also ClearCode’s ultimate introduction to Godot 4 which is the best video that covers nearly everything in Godot but doesn’t go as in depth as other tutorials.

I like that he is doing things, then "no, that's bad, let's make that better" and show how to
