Flattening Boards after Glue Ups

Показать описание
Most of the time when we glue timbers together for the sake of making cutting boards or merely creating that laminated effect the board may still have somewhat of a high spot.
Given that if you've used the correct clamping procedure producing a flat face should not be to difficult so if you don't own a Jointer or have flattening jigs you may wish to choose doing this task with a Plane or as I do a belt sander.

Good video. I would like to know if possible what kind of glue you used. Must be powerful! - realise you might be to busy to respond to this. I would like to find a good glue for making two ply book cover boards [from Millboard] for maximum strength. Thanks for uploading.

Step number one should be to remove that loose bracelet. Loose clothing and jewelry are extremely dangerous around any power tools.

Just an idea of minimal flattening a Board without having to take it to a jointer, good glue ups will prevent the amount of flattening needed & this is just one approach 👍

Mate if you ever need it, get a batch of them ready and I'll flatten them on the CNC. Just mail them up

or, you could just cut them to proper thickness... and a sharp hand plane is faster AND more accurate than a belt sander....even on hardwood.
