another tip to hide marker bleeds: draw on a separate piece of paper and then glue that into your sketchbook - keeps your page count the same and still hides the blobs :)

Sometimes, on the page with bleeds, I like to glue some art I do outside of my sketchbook on there so everything can be in the sketchbook together and it covers the bleeds

You could glue colored paper over the blobs or trace them. You can paint over them, make sticker collages, or use a mixed media sketchbook.

this was actually super helpful, particularly the stuff about the first page. I hate just jumping in with a sketchbut never know what to put there, so I leave it blank then get frustrated when i'm finishing my sketchook that the only blank page is the first one. This motiveated me to do a simple but cute design on the first page of my current book that's going to give me peace of mind as I get to the end of it

You could always put inspiration pics on those pages. Like mood or vision boards, colour palettes etc. things that inspire your sketches.

I filled my “first” sketchbook, and I don’t have an other one yet! This motivated me even more. I have a first sketchbook too, but I didn’t finish it! I still call this one my second tho! I acually don’t like doing the first page, because, idk. But I actually did it this time! Can’t wait for a new sketchbook!

Another tip for the bleeding! If you dont want to skip a spread!
If its only a little bleeding:

i don't normally comment on videos but omg i love your video so much !! your drawings were so comforting to watch and the voiceover was so fun and entertaining that i watched through the whole thing without skipping a single part (which i haven't done in ages cause my attention span is practically non-existent). i haven't owned a sketchbook in a long time - i finished my last one about a year ago and simply never got a new one because i just felt so burnt out with studies, work and moving countries. i do still draw, but mainly on random scraps of paper (receipts from stores are my new favourite thing ahaha). that's not the point. your video was just so, , comforting. it genuinely felt like no matter how i use a sketchbook, it's just for me, only i will see it. i'm going to go buy a new sketchbook right now. i haven't felt this way in ages, but something about your drawings and your voice, , you're so inspirational.
