I want to make total back up of my boot drive with operating system & programs so that when the drive dies, I can restore everything on a brand new drive. I had experienced issues in the past when it either detected my newly purchased drive not being the same size/brand/type as old drive and or the destination where I stored the backup image doesn't match, etc. This was like 10 years ago. Has Acronis improved & corrected these issues? Also, to perform the above intended backup, which should I choose now - Entire PC backup or Partition Backup? Please advise. Thank you in advance!

If I do a full backup with a 3rd party software, will I able to restore everything to that HDD where the backup file is? Or I need an HDD for the backup file, and another to restore the system / files / datas / everything?

I have purchased your software. Sadly, i am not at all convinced this is an easy to use software. The interface is very kludgy and the backup options are simple, the recovery options are painful. What use is a back up if I cannot recover from it?

If your removable media is large enough, can you simply make your full system backup bootable, so you cam simply plug in your external drive, boot from it and restore your computer from the same drive.

I have Acronis True Image 2019, I'm sending my laptop off to be repaired and have a replacement laptop until I get my regular one back. I do have full back ups to the cloud and an external hard drive. I'm not sure how to transfer the full backup to the temporary laptop. Do I have to download the Acronis program software files as a completely different account or as a free trial?

Is it possible to recover image into Bootable System partition?

Right-clicking on the backup does not work. I have a touchpad and normally tap with two fingers to double-click, but when booting from the recovery media, it doesn't seem to recognize right clicks. Wish I could double-click or there was some way to accomplish this with the keyboard. I will try booting into my regular Windows system and doing the restore from there.

Thanks for the video on Acronis Recovery. What if the hard drive I am attempting to install the backup image on is a new SSD hard drive? In my situation I am testing it right now to see if I can put on the backup image that was done with the exact same hard drive brand, Samsung SSD, but as I said, is a new one.

For some reason, when I check the box to recover the whole disk, I get a screen that says that the recovery location is not specified, and when I browse to find it, I do not see the new hard drive. I am clearly doing something wrong but have no idea what it is. My backup is on an external My Passport usb device. My boot method to the Acronis loader was by a USB stick with Acronis installed on it, so I booted on the new device with this USB stick with Acronis 2021 on it. Even when I browsed for the backup, the new hard drive was never shown.

Is there anything special you have to do when installing a new hard drive for installation of the backup image? I am not quite sure why this hard drive is not showing up, but I just simply took old one out, and put new one in and proceeded. Any ideas of what I may have done wrong? Thanks again,

I am trying to restore a recent backup, my drive failed, and I replaced it with the same model drive, and I put in the Bootable DVD and I get the Acronis True Image and I select the tibx file and select the backup date and time. When I get to the destination, my new drive is gray, and it doesn't let me select it.
I tried with an unformated disk and I formated it to ntfs, but I can not get it to allow me to select it.
I used 2017 Acronis and it made TIB files and I used it for years and never had an issue.
This is the first time I have needed to restore a backup with the Acronis 2023 and it is the first time working with a TIBX file.

WHY is the new drive grayed out?
What do I need to do to restore the backup to a drive?

I tried 2 new drives and they both showed up as Gray and won't allow me to select them as the destination.

Is it a space issue?

The former version of True Image would restore to a smaller drive without a problem.

It seems like this new version has a lot of problems with it.

I would love to be able to use my old Acronis boot disk or the Acronis True Image on my computer, but it won't read a TIBX file.

I need help please

I was recovering a (whole pc) back up file to my new pc with Acronis true image and accidentally turned off the pc when it restarted. I did this because my screen was black and the computer was on so I thought it was on some kind of sleep mode.

When I turned it on again I got the bit locker screen and the computer just restarted after 3 minutes. I tried recovering again however I got another bit locker screen and I put in the security key this time and it took me back to the regular screen. I tried again and got the same thing, is there anyway to fix this problem.

I want to transfer my whole pc (laptop) to my brand new computer. But I keep getting the recovery error, I am making a new back up to see if it solves the problem.
