5.11 TacTec plate carrier first impressions

I finally broke down and decided to pick up a plate carrier. This is going to be a project that will take a little time to complete.

I got the $99 deal too! So glad I got it. It’s much nicer than my Spartan Leonidas carrier in just about every way. Love the Sandstone color too!

Very nice carrier really like it, I have an old condor it’s ok. Christmas time AR500 had a really good deal two level 3 plates and two trauma pads for about $200 had to get it. Stay safe brother

You can run side plates on that carrier, they are sold separate, load that thing with level 4 plates

I really want one but im buying a carrier for SHTF so i dont want a carrier that wont do well in that scenario

Looks like a solid carrier. I almost went with the 5.11 as well but ultimately got the crye jpc 2.0. Really interested to see how you set it up and how it fits once you get some weight on it.

If you wear 11X14 plates, it's not a bad choice. If you're a manlette, you may prefer something smaller.

Hey, I got mine on the same sale, but if you need plates, Spartan armor systems 11x14 fit perfect. I just got mine today, but they are heavy

Very cool, but don't load it up keep it simple (slick) as possible. I wouldn't bother with side plates unless you want to go full heavy carrier lol, also L.A. police gear had a great sale on level IV ceramic plates for like $110 which is a great deal. I'd go cheaper at first to findout what you like, want, and need etc., whatever plates you decide to go with get as lightweight as possible and rifle rated.

Got a ar500 freeman as a gift for christmas. level III base steel plates. if i had the money i'd get a level IV ceramic. 99 bucks for that isnt bad . Im trying to save up for a cry precision swimmers cut carrier. That being said i love my small freeman. i can wear it under my jacket and no one notices.

Predator armor has some nice plates steel muti curve with kevlar covering 7.5 pounds each not too expensive

What color scheme is this carrier? Is yours in sandstone or kangaroo?

That's definitely a bad a plate carrier! I'm going to have to look at the price
