Man I love how 511 does things. It's like everything has a purpose, there's no random things that you don't know how to use.

Thanks! I pulled out the quick-release on my new vest without studying it first, and was wishing Rogue included a one-page manual with the vest...

the only reason I picked this video was because I screwed with my vest and didn't know how to put it back together, so thanks for fixing my issue in less than a minute =)

Message to Marines: Don't try this on your own. This is far more complex than fitting all the crayons back into the box. Get a sailor to help you.

Very useful video, but can you actually talk about how to adjust it for best fit?

I found mine New at a pawn shop $15. Couldnt pass on it. I'm 6'3 243 it fits perfect. It will hold 11x14 plates, water hydration pack and first aide kit on side. I adjusted the vest to protect up to the sternal notch. For SHTF its a go.

It would be nice if he showed how the vest should look and fit when worn.

That's a pain in the ass just to adjust it.

For anybody wondering, yes this carrier is a PITA, this video makes it look better than it is. With that being said it’s good quality. I currently use it as a trainer with 40lb’s total in mine, the worst part about these is that single point emergency release. I had to just tie my cable in the back to keep it from literally falling apart. It annoyingly comes off
the velcro from the weight and lands under my neck.

The only thing I don't like is that the cummerbund is sectional and that the cord is a little too easy to accidentally pull out. *Pro tip- I used a spare nylon MOLLE strap to lock them together in the back so it the cable is pulled out accidentally the cummerbund doesn't fall apart/ out of it's seating in the back portion of the carrier. Could also use 550 cord to accomplish the same thing lashing them together, there's enough play in the elastic sides that normal adjusting is easy. I also recommend taking some colored 500mph tape and wrapping it around a point on the cord behind the looping on the shoulders so it's harder to pull out once adjusted, little extra security.

After watching this I'm so glad mine fit out of the box

So like.. What if you ask a friend to bring you your vest and they grab it by the handle and your heavy plates cause the cable to come out and the carrier falls apart? Lmao

The generic “heavy rock” music and MTV-like quick cinematography added to the confusion very nicely.
