This is perfect really hoping for some more regular videos like this. Also, the website update! Have been wondering when it would come and it looks amazing.

I can’t wait to have all my friends look at me funny while I explain this to them in person without the context of demonstration

Good video. Getting my PC just like I wanted it was not easy. I am a fan of the "travel light so I can travel fast" school, but as I have grown older, this has turned into, "well, at least as fast as I can". Weight and bulk add up fast.

Mistake #6: blurring your face out when operating in your plate carrier. Makes it extremely hard to see and operate properly.

(5:00) I use elastic style for that very same reason. It works really well when I’m running, or jumping, or whatever obstacles I may face in any type of environment.

Great info. Super helpful. I wish I had this available when I was looking for my first plate a few years ago.

Body Armor was not offered when I was in the SF, so this is all new to me, thanks for posting.

Don't forget to tether your compasses and stuff to your carrier so you don't yard sale it while moving.
I also use mechanic's wire to tether my light, and ATPIAL, to my boom stick. Get selfish, no freebees for others.

I thought there was some pretty good tips in this video. Especially when they showed how difficult too much stuff makes going prone, getting back up again and the interaction of gear in vehicles a real chore. Regarding snagging hazards: It's also important to remember how your rifle's sling fits into the dynamic of all of that kit. Being able to sling or unsling one's weapon reasonably quickly is an important thing to learn and practice. That was also an excellent point about keeping the drawing area above one's secondary holster clean. Good stuff! 🫡

Great points all around! Can't agree more when it comes to cable management, it's critical and guys forget about it all the time.

I couldn't believe when we went to pre deployment training, people wore their carriers low over their stomach. I knew proper wear so I had mine higher where it should be protecting lungs and heart. 4 of them seriously laughed and said look at him his whole lower half is exposed! The stupidity I swear

I think the top reference of the plate carrier height isn’t the sternum, but the clavicular notch… the sternum is the center of your chest where the breast bone connects the ribs.. just to minimize confusion.

I get issued a Crye Plate Carrier. I've found it hard to get truly comfortable with it due to the cummerbunds lack of flexibility, so I now use Ferro Concepts ADAPT Cumberland's with a Warrior P/C, which is far lighter and allows me to actually breathe whilst having the P/C snug enough to stay in one place. This is especially important when also wearing soft armour underneath.
As far as wearing side plates, it's easy enough to add them with the Crye side plate bags whilst still being able to use the Ferro elastic punches for mags or whatever.
It's a Mish Mash but it's effective, light and works well for me.

The tube-style cummerbund is definitely worth it. Those FirstSpear tubes are no joke. Last forever.
