Build a Shield. Block his attacks. hit him between. Make sure your well fed.

The shield blocked all the damage from all his attacks.

And then I proceeded to expand the little archery tower into a fully stocked outpost.

It took you longer to build this thing than it took me to kill him normally.

I did this in the middle of the night during thunder and lightning, got two adds immediately, health went below 20, so I booked it and ran. Just so you know, there is no tether on this mob, so it chased me through the woods, and all the way back to my main base. I ran inside, closed the door, and that sucker destroyed the place trying to get to me. Luckily, it didn't just knock down one wall, it just kept running around and attacking the entire structure, making holes everywhere, which gave me a way to shoot arrows at it, and kill it. Took me a few hours to rebuild the structure, what a mess.

I just punched him repeatedly and panic ran in circles after accidentally summoning him after looking for my loot after a troll killed me

Craft leather armor with deer hides, a flint axe and cooked meat. Eat berries, mushroom and cooked meat then summon him.
Battle doesn't take long and if you get low health just hide among the rocks until you heal up.

Better method than this is do the same thing with ladders and a wooden floor but put the wooden floor on top of one of the big stones near the summon alter. Surround yourself with mini walls. He cant destroy the stone, his melee attacks cant hit the wood, and the lightning damage to wood is negligible.

Your goal is to have a single wooden floor square on top of the tallest stone next to his summon alter surrounded by short walls. If he destroys the stairs, doesn't matter. Just stay up there. He can't destroy the stone.

I actually killed him with just a spear. No need to build a fort:D

I gave it a try and he just obliterated the little fortress. Maybe he's a tad smarter after the update or whatever. Anyway, since then, I just go grab 30 flint and make a level 2 spear, a wooden shield, and whatever armor I can get. Rest, eat some food, and go kill him. Learn to block his attacks and you'll heal that damage right back up. You can also get about 5-10 free shots as he appears when summoned. The rest is a bit of running around, throw the spear while keeping your distance. You have to keep an eye on your spear or else you can lose it. Also, don't have a full inventory or you might not be able to pick it up after picking up some trash. Occassionally, go in for a few melee attacks with the spear. The worst starting run I've had, I was able to kill him in under 50 minutes play time - less than 3 game days (no sleeping).

idk why everyone is saying this boss is easy, i went into this game completely blind and was constantly out of stamina. without a guide like this it would probably take me multiple attempts.
