Bar chords are HARD!

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, well… You know what I’m trying to say.

It makes sense. Bar chords require a different technique than any of the other open chords.

Now, being the contrarian that I am I want to make a statement that you might not agree with.

Bar chords are EASY.

Now, why would I go and say something like that?

I guess a more accurate statement would be “bar chords are easy for some people”.

They’re easy for me… okay, I guess that’s no big revelation.
But they are also easy for many people like you that once thought they were hard.

And that’s good news!

It’s good news because I want you to know they really are well within your reach.

I’m NOT saying that one day you’ll be able to struggle through playing bar chords with gritted teeth and a furrowed forehead.

I mean they can AND WILL be easy and fun.

When bar chords are easy and fun it opens up a whole world of guitar playing.

In this video, I’ll explain the one simple reason bar chords are hard for most people.

Then I’ll give you some practical advice on how to get to that “other side of the rainbow”.

And most importantly, I’ll instill in YOU new confidence and enthusiasm for playing guitar and playing bar chords.

What another video packed with lots of sound advice that me, as a silver haired (and beard!!!) intermediate player. Would it also be that sometimes, you have to look at the guitar's action which, particularly on (dare I say it?) cheaper guitars is far too high and may be can't be adjusted?

Hi 🤠, I need some help
I'm a beginner, and when I strum with a pic, I strum too hard, I even broke my strings before🤦‍♂️
And I have seen your other videos on holding the pic, I can't really hold that way, because I have a disability due to which I'm not being able to use the way you said in your video(15 Feb 2018)... I hold it with my thumb, index and middle finger, and I play too too hard... Please help me play softer and better
