Whether it's a 3 hour flight or a 16 hour flight, I pack my flight essentials [cell phone, nasal spray, medications, lens case (with solution in it), eyeglasses, gum, tissues, Shout wipes, antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, face mask, eye mask, small hairbrush, etc.] into a sports fanny pack that I'll wear if airline not strict, or put into my personal item if they are. Once at my seat, I strap it around the back of my tray table. It doesn't interfere with the operation of the tray table, everything is safely within reach and not falling onto floor, and there's no need to use the yucky seat pocket except for trash.

One time I was traveling international and found someone's passport on the floor next to the toilet on the plane. It was dark and thank goodness I was able to see it. Gave it to the flight attendant.

I have a long-haul flight coming up in a couple of days. After several cancellations and rescheduling, we got bumped up to business class, so I plan to be the person who eats dinner and then sacks out for the rest of the flight!

The cord for the ear buds gave me a great idea. Using a cord that you use for reading glasses and hook them to my hearing aides! Thanks

Hey Laurie! I love your positivity, creativity and style! My son left last week for a 7 week study abroad program. He had a Level 8 suitcase, clothes packed in compression cubes, small packs of liquid detergent (his professor also suggested) and other items you have shown. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and taking the stress out of the unknown!

This is super timely. Have my first long haul flight in 2 weeks. 13 hours from UK to Malaysia! But I'm feeling prepared. Thanks Laurie 😊

These are great reminders for our upcoming long-haul (LAX - LHR) flight. We'll be sleeping most of the all-nighter flight (business class) to be ready to go once we touch down at Heathrow. (Wife of a DFW pilot)

I have 2 of the tray table seatback pouches. OMG I cannot travel without these now. My toddler loves being able to put her sippy cup, her snack container, toys, books, tablet, etc ALL in one place without them being on her lap and on the floor.

These have almost completely eliminated the need for me to reach into our personal items under the seat during the flight.
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I love the Unbound Merino hoodie for travel. The hoodie keeps my neck warm and doubles as an eye cover. It’s thin and doesn’t jut my head forward and is great for temperature regulation without added weight. I use a buff as a scarf and eye mask. Love your videos.

I purchased one of those foot sling for my trip to London. I'm short-leg, so I thought it would be perfect. Well, it made me feel like my legs were up on my chest. I agree with you about getting up and moving around. On that same trip, my ankles swelled to the point I was practically crying and stayed that way the whole time i was in London. The compression socks I packed were found deep in a side pocket. I'm going to ID from PA this summer, and you can bet where those socks will be: near the top.

Lori.. the last 3 + years I have bought many of the items you have suggested for my trips. I love the tray cover with pockets. Everyone should have them. Game charger. 😊

We have an overseas flight coming up from Kelowna YLW to Heathrow via Calgary YYC. With the neck pillow, I turn mine backwards and have the connection on the back so the thick part supports my chin. If I slept on my tray table my back and neck would be done. Plus Im tall enough that I wouldn't even be able to comfortably bend anyways.

I’ve started going on knitting cruises and retreats so now I have my knitting with me on flights. It’s essential. Compression bags work great for all the yarn I buy while traveling.

I travel with my light and beautiful pashmina :) Works like a charm. I use a good quality inflatable neck pillow I can adjust to wherever I need support.

I love the Trtl for long trips; for me, it really works when I sleep. And it is so small and lightweight... nothing like a blow up or prestuffed neck pillow that can be awkward to deal with once you arrive at your destination. The Trtl easily squishes into your suitcase when you don't need it. I also love the Napwrap which is a tiny thing that supports your arms without an armrest (so wonderful when traveling alone) and can also be used as an eye mask. Finally, while I like the book light you have, I LOVE my Kindle paperwhite. It has an adjustable backlight so you can read in all light levels from pitch black to beach side. It also carries dozens and dozens of books on it, and can even be used as an area light in a hotel room.
