reading amy's book from 2004 right now. not only was she arrested for her reporting of the 2008 rnc and the dakota pipeline protests, but before democracy now started she was banned from indonesia and east timor for being a whistleblower of the indonesian military's brutal us-backed occupation of east timor. i can't think of a single american journalist who has made such a massive positive impact on oppressed communities, let alone that she continues to do it with this program every weekday. amy goodman is truly the change she wants to see
