What poppycock coming from the US that Palestine needs their statehood recognized by Israel - the Israel Regime that declared itself a State against international Resolutions in 1948.
It is for the Nations of the World, members of the UN who need to recognize the State of Palestine, as should have been done in 1948. It may have taken 75 years in having it come about with much destrction, carnage and land grabbing by the Israelis, but this situation can be made right. As nd it can be done.
Then the work can begin in dealing with Israel for the return of the 1948 lands under the original UN Resolution and for reparations for all of the Israeli destruction and carnage in Gaza, the West Bank and E Jerusalem.
The US is unlawfully and unethically siding with and enabling the Apartheid State of Israel. A State that needs to be finally held accountable and responsible to comply with UN Resolutions. No more aiding and abetting of a State that has constantly ignored International Laws, Humanitarian Rights, and the Sovereign rights of the Palestinian and Arab people.

Why should Palestine have to negotiate its own statehood with ANYONE at all? They are a sovereign state applying for admittance to the U.N. Let them in! Let’s see how many countries vote yes and we’ll know what the consensus is.
