I really love hearing your enthusiasm about this movie, because I really don’t understand all of the criticism that this movie has been getting I mean yea it is very confusing and there are a lot of things I don’t yet understand, but it’s so epic and so creative and what an experience that film was

I just finished watching myself and I agree. I sat their thinking, "man this movie really was made for me". As a fan of not only the spy genre, but a fan of time travel narrative. I know, its flawed, there are usually holes and we've seen it before, but it is such a fun concept to see explored. This movie was big and epic like a blockbuster but it almost felt like an indie. Let me explain: the last time I saw a movie that challenged me in the same way was with the film Primer from the early 2000's. The characters spoke in engineer jargon, the time travel in the film required a diagram to be sketched out to figure out and it took a lot of narrative risks. Tenet felt like watching a big blockbuster version of that film and I loved it.

Favorite Nolan film: The Prestige. I saw it once, was blown away by the story, its constructions, and its twists, so I rewatched it the next day and loved it even more. I’ve only seen Tenet once, but similar to The Prestige, I get the sense it will reward multiple viewings.
Did you see it multiple times before this review, or is this all based on your first watch? I’m interested in how the movie fares on rewatch.

Great review, Griffin! This is definitely Nolan's best ACTION film from what I've seen from him. Every time there was an action sequence in the second half of the film, I thought it was the third-act climax. While it may be a little frustrating to watch without subtitles and very confusing, it's so immersive and breathtaking to watch. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had in a movie theater.

I agree. I loved Tenet and the Bond influence is undeniable and i adored it. But i still see Michael Manns influence in some of the action scenes. In particular the moterway heist in Estonia. I have a suspicion that this will have a sequel. Neil said the whole film was a temporal pencer movement, but that they were only halfway there. I think we could see a sequel that ends with the beginning of this film. A true palindrome.
