I like how when you gives these tips you’re realistic about things being expensive. So you give a genuinely good tip/option that’s easily in reach for a lot of people.

I think what’s actually more important is that people inform themselves about their LOCAL recycling programs. My city specifies lids should be left on bottles, they should be emptied and rinsed but don’t need to be “washed”, as in no soap needed

After talking to someone who manages a recycling plant I learned that you should keep the caps attached because loose caps can jam up their machines

I’ve really liked the idea of making my own condiments when possible like mayonnaise and pickles! I can reuse my glass containers from past pasta sauces and pickles and since I’ve had some health changes recently I can’t really have the store bought stuff anymore. It’s not as convenient but I plan it out and freeze it in batches🤘🏻

As someone who’s not close to a zero waist store or a store with the bulk section, I really appreciate these videos!

Where I live they tell us to put the caps on or the caps won't get recycled 🤷

Remember what happened when Michael Moore followed his neighborhood's recycling truck all those years ago?
✳️*If possible, make sure your recycling is actually being recycled and not ending up in the dump w/ all the low maintenance garbage. 😉

Be careful leaving lids of containers. Animals can get stuck in them

Also if there’s the mental energy and time. It’s okay to save the bottle and reusing for homemade vinegarettes and dressings too. Or as travel food containers.

As someone with chronic pain this isn’t always possible to give grace a chance and also don’t hoard it all. It’s okay to recycle

You teach me so much and it’s crazy to think that I really felt like for so long I couldn’t try to be zero waste because I don’t have any zero waste, grocery stores around. But every time a video of yours popped up on my for you page I learned something new.!!! Thank you

Yes glass type of packaging can be expensive but I love how you educate people about other alternatives and how to properly recycle them!

as always, thanks so much for sharing these tips with people!😊 just wanted to comment to say:
Please be careful about sharing recycling guidelines as they differ so much between towns in the US. For example, in my city, plastic caps cannot be recycled. In some places, you’re supposed to keep the caps on the bottles in order to recycle them. Sometimes, recycling in based on the shape of the item, rather than the number of plastic that it is made out of. The best tip is to check your city’s recycling guidelines and choose containers that can be recycled where you live😊
