Dillon - I have a request. I can’t remember Tesla’s typical volume of stock sales, so when you tell us that volume was up or down 20 million or 20 thousand shares, it doesn’t mean much to me. If you could tell us that volume was 5% higher or 20% lower than typical volume, it would be more meaningful to me. Just a request or suggestion. 😎👍

People who say tesla should not associate with costco are high as a kite. Costco partnership is a no brainer, the best possible retail expansion strategy i could think of so long as costcos cut isnt too rich. Anyone that has a costco membership and shops there regularly has the mindset to understand the TCO benefits of buying and driving an EV. A very natural demographic to sell to.

You stated that Rivian is making a Gross Profit per Vehicle Delivered during Q2 of $32, 705 . The spreadsheet you displayed shows this as a (loss), which I believe is the correct take on this metric.

4:51 Might be a relatively small order, but that sentiment is out there. I recently bought my 3rd Tesla because I’m a fan of the cars. Of 4 people of my extended friend group that bought EVs in the past year, only 1 bought a Tesla. All 4 of them (even the one who ended up buying a Y) cited Elon as a reason to not buy a Tesla.

I don't understand why Waymo is so slow in progression. When people say LIDAR is necessary for autonomy, one would assume the progress with LIDAR would be much faster than vision only.

Since Model 2 can be built on existing production lines in totally in favour of being prudent with new factories. A lot will change in the upcoming years, and we already have Mexico ahead of us.
That being said, I’m sure that factory design keeps improving, so whenever a location will eventually be announced it’ll be next gen compared to current factories + Mexico

Correction on Thailand: Tesla only *just* launched there not long ago. 1000 vehicles / quarter isn't a surprise for a brand new region. There's a lot of interest in Thailand in EVs to fix some of the awful smog problems Bangkok gets in tunnels and under bridges (which people frequently also walk or ride open-air vehicles in). There's a market, it's just a new market. They had enough demand pre-launch that there were tons of grey market Teslas imported from China.

My guess is that Next gen inboxed production processes have allowed tesla to figure out how to 4x production of existing factories, negating the need for new facfories

FSD 12.5.1.1 is pretty good. Many small improvements over 12.3.6. Biggest issues are in reading speed signs and determining best speed. Getting close.

Just got V12.3 on my 2017 X in Canada. I know it's a couple versions behind but finally getting V12 on my legacy is very exciting!

8:48) Dillon, is Cruze (Crewz? What The Frunk?) losing more money than Rivian?

Thats hilarious that cruise said they’re bringing in a new culture and part of that new culture is safety 😂

The shipping sounds expensive but works out at less than $350 a car Shanghai to Europe

Tesla applied for a Retail supply licence in UK 2 years ago, before the head of retail energy was even appointed, process is almost complete I’m expecting that rollout before the end of the year, probably to line up with bidirectional charging from cars when they change to Cybertruck version of inverters in the rest of the vehicle line up

Current policy continuation would naturally happen if Harris wins. This would be very good for Tesla including the possibility of opening giga mexico. The momentum towards accelerating the transition to renewable energy and EVs would continue. The alternative would prefer to disrupt the continuity to favor protecting ICEs and promoting oil energy "independence".
