You protect your family inside your home, you don’t start walking the street looking for trouble.

If he was "...defending his home..." why is he walking around "in the street" with weapons?

Dude got shot out in the middle of the street after aiming his gun at police. Even if he didn't know they were police you don't chase someone out of your house, into the street, and continue to shoot at them. It doesn't matter what color you are, or in what state you live, no one has the right to do that. You have the right to defend your home, while someone is trying to break in, or have broken in. As soon as they are out of your home the only right you have is to call the police and guard your home.

Life's tougher when you're stupid. Sometimes it's also a bit...shorter.

I'm sick of the absurdity of every instance of a black man being shot by the police being scrutinized. The vast majority of these shootings are justified (as is the case here) and human error will always occur as long as human beings function as law enforcement. If these social justice warriors care so much about these convicts, let them open their homes and families to them when they're paroled for rape and murder. See how effective love and understanding are at combating recidivism first hand👌👍

So now the problem is shooting armed suspects? Granted, he is absolutely innocent until proven guilty, but no one is able to just draw and aim their weapon at someone. Unless some major, damning evidence is released, I think these officers were justified in defending themselves.

Wait wait, he was outside his house, opening the door of the car he dosent own while holding a gun in his hand.

That's breaking multiple laws . Yes you have the right to protect your property and house but your property stops at the sidewalk and only if you are actively in danger or reasonable fear. He went out of his bounds to the street and open a car door, a car he dosent own with a gun in his hand. Let that sink in, because imagine if at night a random person opens your car door woth a gun in their hand. Im pretty sure it's just because he wants to make sure you were ok not to do something with mallace.

Man from NAACP said there’s a lot of things we don’t know about the shooting. There are a few things we do know . He was out on bail for armed robbery, warrant for assault with a deadly weapon . He was in possession of a gun with no serial numbers . Walked up to the car opened the door and pulled his gun and pointed it at the officer . What else do we need to know?

His friend is wrong. Walking outside your house and confronting people in a car sitting on A PUBLIC STREET is not "defending" your home. It doesn't matter if they are police officers or whoever they may be. They even stayed in their car - it was Mr. Stanley who opened THEIR car door and pointed a gun at them. 100% justified shooting and race has nothing to do with it.

Not on your property & not threatening you = not self defense.

In the State of California, Firearms Laws suggest, You can't openly carry a firearm in public with out getting the attention of the local PD because it is prohibited by law.
Even those who are lucky enough to get a CCW permit do not brandish their firearms in public. I think the perceived threat is solid and Mr BLM'er became one of the recipient of this year's Darwin Awards.

if the officers werent threatening him, its not self defense....you cant defend yourself if no one is attacking you.
just because the officers were in neighborhood and had weapons doesnt mean they were threatening him. they would be stupid not to arm themselves going into neighborhoods like that. if he shot at police and they werent threatening him, its not self defense on his part. police had right to defend themselves.

How come when a black man kills a police officer the news media acts like “to bad, so sad, get over it” I get so tired of hearing the family of the victim saying “ he was a good person, had a bad up bringing, has ADHD etc.. Why was he walking around the street with a gun, opening a car door and aiming his gun at a person?
