First story: She took a photo of the back of her head to look at the extent of the damage. No mirrors out there, and she likely wanted to see if it looked as bad as it felt. I wonder if the remains then contained evidence of bleach, or if they were "bleached" by the sun (very different things).

I literally let out a scream as you started the first story. I'm from Amersfoort and knew both girls, my mum was friends with Kriss mother and I was in a theatre group with Kris. My father taught Lisanne in High school. Even after so many years, it still shakes me to my core what happened to them.

Kris, I remember the first case. Some people suggested the photos of random things in the dark may have been the women trying to use the flash of the camera to illuminate their surroundings, give them a quick snapshot of the area. It’s not much. But when you have nothing else… 😢

The fact that so many people immeditly began to look for those two girls makes me just a tad bit happier-- by that afternoon the family they were staying with was looking for them, the next day there were full scale searches- the dutch even sent their own detectives to help. Idk, I feel like I here so many stories about people waiting days or even weeks to search that the fact that this town-- one that they were just visiting (and they hadn't even been there long)-- was so ready to help just warms my heart, just a little bit.

The second story IS literally like a movie, in saw 3 Lynn Denlon has ALSO a bomb collar which was honestly crazy and its just insane that anyone could even think to make that.

I remember the first case very well. It was like a huge story in the Netherlands. Everyone was hoping for them to return. This happened when I was like 14/15, right after my grandpa with alzheimers went missing in the wilderness in southern France, so my family sympathized with Kris’ and Lisannes family a lot.

Btw, After many months of searching (also with official Dutch searchdog teams), we never found my grandpa. Only some time later his rotting corpse was found by a local hunter and his dog. Right near the location where he went missing and in the only tiny area where no one had searched. He died by (probably) tripping and well.. nature got to him

I've seen ever single one of your Crime Deep Dives multiple times and even when I've been eating dinner and none really physically phased me much. BUT that one line of "But unfortunately none of the 77 emergency calls made from the phones went through" sent shivers down my spine and covered my entire being in goosebumps.

Oh, one more thing with regards to Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froom. The unsuccessful attempts to unlock Kris' phone. I've heard it posited (and I think its the most likely scenario) that Lisanne had Kris' phone, probably after Kris had either become unconscious or had died, and was trying to unlock it to attempt to call for help. (Remember, her phone had died on the first night.) My guess is she saw the phone had signal and was frantically trying to unlock it to call for help but was unable to figure out Kris' password.
