Why does everyone massively increase their prices? I don't get why they think the average consumer would go out and buy a board that costs 30% more for the same feature set.

I am not even in the market for a new mobo, but it's always fun to keep updated on who makes good or bad products.

I absolutely love motherboard round up videos and I don't think one has been posted for a while so this is great

Thanks for doing roundups it seems like nobody else does these anymore and they're super helpful.

edit: I'm not sure if it's accurate across the board for Gigabyte, but Buildzoid mentioned the cheaper Z790 refresh used an updated memory topology which was from a more expensive model original release.

Good to see Asrock boards doing well again 🙂

Could you please make a comparison video with more budget-friendly MBs?
Gigabyte Z790 GAMING X AX, Gigabyte Z790 UD AX, Msi Z790 GAMING PLUS WIFI, ASRock Z790 Steel Legend WiFi, and so on?
Temps, power consumption, RAM support, stability, some productivity/gaming test, etc

You missed the ASRock Z790 Taichi Lite Board.. Best bang for buck board surely of the new ones

People were EXTREMELY disappointed with not having 10GB network on the original hero. Even after cancelling the Extreme and introducing the Dark Hero, they couldn't AT LEAST add the 10GB network... Very disappointing

Why does the 14900K loose so much frequency when run at 250W? It seems like there is an issue with the voltage curve of the 14900K and it always runs at the same VCore regardless of PL2.

Expected behaviour would be that VCore is reduced and at 254W you should get something around 5.2GHz.
At 3.75GHz you usually have around 100W power consumption, not 250W.

Really happy with the Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7 I decided on. Has been a beast so far!

So do these boards support i9 14900k out of the box without bios update

Which of these motherboards will allow you to put more than one Nvme in them esp using the top one without sacrificing the GPU from 16 to 8 and I only want to use Gen 4 in them instead of gen 5 to save on the price

Would be nice to see more memory scaling benchmarks with these boards, a lot of them advertise 7600 mt/s out of the box.

Was just looking for this yesterday shocked that you guys hadn't made one already.

I would be interested in seeing if the comparable Z690 boards work just as well on these 14th processors considering you can find some at much lower prices.

The VRM of the Aorus Z790 Elite reaches 59 °C with an i9 14900K at 334 Watts. That's impressive when considering the price, which is €205 (inc. VAT) here in Europe.

7:07 msi z790 tomahawk max wifi
did they fix the ethernet issue or just leave it as is and broken/unusable?

if you get one, they are a pretty good board, but buy a $12-15 ethernet card so you don't have to rely on the slower wifi.

What happened to the new Gigabyte Z790 Auros Pro X? I’m surprised it didn’t make the list since it’s a new refresh model.

Where is the z790 all white mb from ASUS like with the Z690 Supreme?

Gigabyte wifi 7 is an 8 layer pcb vs 6 for the Elite AX as well as a better layout in bios. So not the same just with wifi 7 and 14th gen compatibility.
