Real-time free-viewpoint movie of our latest 3D sensor - the "Single-Shot 3D Motion Picture Camera".
Each 3D frame was aquired in only ONE single camera frame (single-shot!)
- no temporal encoding
- no spatial encoding
- no color encoding
DENSE data with HIGH quality (RAW data are displayed!). Each displayed point is a UNIQUELY measured, nearly UNCORRELATED 3D point!
- no interpolation
- no smoothing
Raw data with this high quality can easily be post-processed for applications like VIRTUAL REALITY or 3D-PRINTING (examples will follow!).
The acronym OSMIN is our program:
"Optical Sensing, Metrology and INspection".
Our aim is to understand the physical limits of optical 3D sensors, and the information-theoretical limits of algorithms to process 3D data. We apply this knowledge to investigate and build new sensors that work at those limits. Most of the projects are in cooperation with partners from industry, medicine or art conservation.
