Lionel, I love your dedication to be the BEST version of you. And it was AWESOME meeting you in Kona at the Aquatic Centre. You've now had time to reflect and remove the raw emotion from the performance on Oct 13. Believe in yourself mate. You even said it out loud what you know you need to do. A coach is the missing link in your armour I believe too. And I reckon that with your personality and past history, there could be no better fit than Mark Allen. His spiritual foundation and belief in "that vital aspect" of elite performance is crucial to enhance your natural and raw talent, coupled with your insatiable work ethic. It'll 100% improve your relationships with the current Team Sanders too. The other person that comes to mind is Crowie (Craig Alexander). He has the humility of Mark and is a real student of the sport. And being a fellow Aussie, Crowie would be a huge asset to have in your team. So onwards and upwards mate and continue to be the best you can be. It took Mark 6 x attempts before he cracked the win in Kona. So keep that humility mate and see you again in KONA. I love that place!

Oh how prophetic at 1:10 .... I said i feared Kona would humble Sanders this time and that seems to have transpired. I feared Sanders was overtraining, indeed that was the case. I feared Sanders' utter refusal to enlist the expertise of a coach to basically save him from himself and his obsessive impulses, would come back and haunt him .. indeed that seems to have been borne out. None of this gives me any pleasure to admit. Do I believe Lionel is a clean triathlete, 100%, can the same be said of some of his competitors ? I'm not convinced.

Interesting self deprecation lionel...it's easy to fall into it...is psych' fitness your final frontier brother, like most of us...greatly appreciate your time and intimate insights, they've got me running (including stairs) again at 47...
