My wife and I have had ours for a little over a year and he's been nothing but a blessing he's so well behaved and intelligent. The eye contact shows he's thinking and working things out and yes he chased me in my truck once lol and I can confirm he can easily run 40 mph with a smile on his face smh love my banjo the baby boy

Ours is 5 months old, the best dog ever. He's taught us as much as we have taught him. Patience is utmost importance. So intelligent. Our boy is a cyclone of energy. An absolute champion. Very family protective, very family protective. Make sure you have plenty of time for them, they absolutely love being with their families.

Omg! Great, I’m glad I watched., My Beautiful Malinois, is a Rescue, Arnold is 11! He has been such a Great Dog. I had Labs all my life and have been so impressed with this Awesome Breed. Wow, He has taught me so much in life. If you have the time and very very much Patience, please consider this breed. Not Gonna lie, but it was a long road!!!! Arnold has been so Awesome with my 1 year old Grandson! I would luv to have another one day!!! My Heart is so Passionate with this Breed now. So much Energy, lol, I am still active with him and luv it! He gets me Going! Malinois Are so Special And I am so honored and proud to have Great Peotectors ❤️🇺🇸🐾🐾🐾✌️

It’s so true. We adopted a 7 month old Malinois pup and he doesn’t act like the ones that dive or jump out of planes with Navy SEALs. He’s a goofy and loving companion who certainly is an athletic dog but doesn’t need 3 hours of exercise and training to kill bad guys. He’s loyal, protective and watchful of our family. He’s perfect!!!!

Malinois behavior is on a spectrum from the insanely high drive and driven to very chill personalities plus everything in between. For a first-time owner I recommend they go to a Malinois rescue, where they will match the dog's personality to the human's reasonable expectations and experience.

Contrary to the comment in this video, if you only have 15 minutes a day to devote to your Malinois, buy a goldfish instead. This dog is amazing! I own a Belgian Malinois female, she weighs 70 lbs and she is very smart and energetic. This breed is like the Formula One of the dog! But this dog is not for everyone, if you spend your days watching TV, forget about it, this dog is not for you. You will need to have plenty of time for them. In my case she is the best dog I have ever had in my entire life.

I have raised 2 mals and a Dutch Shepherd. I have also trained and done work with other high energy protection dogs like the Doberman and Giant Schnauzer. Mals use to be one flavor many years ago before they become extremely popular and that was LOCKED and LOADED. In the last couple decades there have been a lot of lines that are removed from the working lines far enough that they are good family dogs. If you know what you are getting, go for it. If you get a working line dog and don't know what your doing, you will likely have an out of control chainsaw with legs. The ones I have had were not direct working line and still needed about an hour a day until they were around 4 years old. A little less after that, but they also keep each other busy and tired. That's the benefit of owning more than one.
