Everyone who is interested in buying an OTC hearing aid, should get a professional hearing test FIRST. (If it's past moderate hearing loss, don't bother buying an OTC.)Then where ever the OTC hearing aid is purchased, ASK if it is RETURNABLE, usually within a set My n is well-fitting earmolds. It makes a huge difference. Thanks for the videos.

I will continue to go to my hearing care professional here in southern Indiana. If I was near your business you would be my hearing doctor, thanks again for the knowledge and guidance you give us.

Yesterday I completed 3 online OTC hearing tests, with wildly varying results: one said I had mild hearing loss, the second that I had normal hearing, and the third that I had profound hearing loss. In reality, I have documented mild-to-moderate hearing loss, with my most recent audiogram being 3 months ago, and I have worn hearing aids since 2016. My word to anyone tempted to try OTC hearing aids: Don't trust the self-administered online hearing tests; get a professional hearing evaluation done before shopping for OTC hearing aids. Your insurance MAY cover or reimburse you for the evaluation, even if it does not cover the hearing aids themselves. It's the only way to know for sure whether you have hearing loss and what kind of hearing loss it may be.

Consistent Pricing is a nice name for price fixing! However, it's good to see you're on top of the OTC HA issue.

I just recently went to an audiologist, had a hearing test and was given choices for inexpensive to expensive hearing aids that Medicare will discount to help me pay for them. NOW WHAT TO DO?? Shld I choose the h. aids my audiologist recommended & buy with them OR take my hearing test results to an OTC place for advise? Will OTC accept Medicare insurance??
By the way, I only wanted 1 h.aid for my ear with mid hearing loss & tinnitus.
This for any further advise!

Are there any hearing aids that incorporate bone conduction tech.? I've been diagnosed with profound hearing loss that reportedly is beyond the help of "in the ear" aids but I use bone conduction head sets with my phone and computer with a. reasonable amount of success

Dr. Cliff; what is your thought as to how good the quality of on-line audiologists are (like that of Jabra or Lexie)- when you purchase from them? In your opinion, is the quality going to be acceptible?

Thank you for your great videos which I watch and save some for review. I am in Canada and back in 2020 I purchased a pair of Phonak P90RT hearing aids which were quite costly here. ($9436 minus a government rebate and Phonak special so $5600 which include a charge of $1315 for fitting fee, $184 for recommendation fees and almost $400 for service plan fees) from a prominent Hearing specialist company. Anyway they were well fitted, but I did not really like the experience and returned them. I felt that this was just too much money when I might not ever feel comfortable. Now that the OTC hearing aids are available, I thought perhaps of purchasing a very inexpensive pair to try before getting a better set. I am in Florida next month so I thought that I would take an Amazon pair from Earrck for $249. Can't spend too much as the CDN border exemption is small.

How can we get a meeting with you, Dr. Cliff, to hear your thoughts on the differences of the CROS vs the MedEL systems. I sent information to your office . When I asked to set an appointment with you, I was told you do not meet clients or offer phone consultations. We were told we would need to meet a doctor in your practice with 2 years of experience.
--->>>What would it take to get a phone consultation with you, Dr. Cliff? Thank you Mike

Love your videos. Thank you for all your hard work. There is a lot of buzz over Innerscope Hearing these days. Last year they acquired Hearing Assist and iHear Medical and have their own hearing aids as well. Could you please make a video to review their products. Also, they are deploying hearing screening kiosks all over the United States in retail stores such as CVS Pharmacy, Hy-Vee grocery chain and others. They are also sold in Best Buy, Walgreens and Walmart. Thank you. I'll be watching.

Nice honest review Cliff! I’m lucky I have a new, one year old pair of Phonak Paradise 50’s, plus my bold pair of COSTCO Resounds as my back up set, so I doubt if I’ll be buying any OTC hearing aids! That said I’ve invested over $20, 000 over the past three decades so I know how expensive quality hearing aids cost and I realize that many people are simply priced out of the market! So in some regards this good news for many but I’m skeptical about them being able to write and pair the correct hearing prescription at these prices!

It's Hearing Assist that I can't quite understand what they do. They seem to be betting heavily on awareness but with fairly ordinary products if you compare them to other big players in the industry.
Thank you for your videos it is always very interesting.
