The fact that this happens sucks. I really do respect single parents, but it annoys me when they use "being a single parent" as basis for random nonsense like this.

I knew a man that this happened to. Not teacher. Neighbor. He helped with letting his neighbors son stay with him, for his mom, at his apartment for 30 minutes a day. So, a year later, he moved, and he got served with child support orders. It was insane. He was lucky the judge called BS, and apparently, she had tried it before. Poor kid.

I read a story where a guy started watching a little boy for free since his single mom couldn't afford daycare. She tried to sue him for child support. She not only lost, but he refused to help anymore.
