I live in Louisiana. My oldest daughter lived with my ex husband until she finished high school. I paid child support based on my potential income at the time. I was looking for a job at the time. I ended up finding a job. I paid child support until her 19th birthday. He paid for the 3 children that live with me. He earned 5x more than me. The child support was calculated fairly and worked out well for us. Just take care of your children. Don’t be a deadbeat.

I’ve never heard of child visitation being linked to support. They need to go to a completely different court to establish visitation. I have to agree, music festivals where she acknowledges calling to FaceTime intoxicated is NOT an appropriate place for a young child.

I know these are like semi scripted to show different scenarios but when she said “extra money” it really got to me. I’m glad they used those words. So many parents think their children are supposed to get the leftovers after they finance their lives. I love this show. So realistic.

The look on Plaintiff's face when judge told her she couldn't dictate what happens during other parent's time was priceless. So many times, custodial parent (usually moms) want money but don't want kid to have any time with other parent and/or tries to tell other parent what they can and can't do on their time. I'm glad judge clarified that child support and custody are two separate issues.
