the only opportunity for ships to show up with ground vehicles is in custom battles, with maps where naval spawns have been added to the maps

Played the game since 2013ish but never managed to get my friends into it. Yet suddenly, in the last 3 months, everyone seems to join in on the fun (and pain). Awesome to see the community grow and hope to see more vids on it. Will definitely check your twitch

Fellow War Thunder/Star Citizen player here. I've found both games scratch a weird itch for me - something about vehicle "collecting" and high-fidelity models in both games has me coming back, and the events and Battle Passes in WT are always fun to tune into if there is a particular vehicle I am hoping to have for one of my lineups. Welcome to the game!

BIGGEST TIP for new players - Enjoy the game at each level - or Battle Rating range, and don't race to the finish line. The "Grind" and unlocking vehicles is the continuous nature of the game - but the gameplay is what keeps me and my friends coming back. Each range of BR invites a different play-style, which makes replay-ability seemingly endless if you switch up your games. It may be an unpopular opinion, but playing with a premium account makes the progression feel quick enough, and games where you perform well feel that much more impactful to your research progression. I typically purchase premium account time when they are running sales (ex. 180 Days for 29.99). If you enjoy the gameplay, the premium account is well worth it.

Played this game for many years. Highly recommend playing the EC Simulator air mode. You can expedite your research progress especially with premium account and a premium aircraft but it’s one of the best game modes to play with a HOTAS setup.

If you want to buy a premium vehicle, wait for a sale, they usually give you big savings like 50%+.

The other thing worth buying is probably crew skill, the difference between a rookie crew and and expert crew is really big, and they will make any tank you assign to that crew a lot more effective. Maybe not as exciting as a new tank, but more useful long term.

Air RB is a lot of fun at low/mid tiers once you get used to the keybinds and the different flight modes. It took me a while to figure it out but there are a lot of things in the game to enjoy. Enjoy the grind!
