030 - Electric Field of Parallel Plates

In this video Paul Andersen explains how the electric field between oppositely and equally charged plates is uniform as long as you are far from the edge. The strength of the electric field can be determined by either the charge of the plate and the area or the voltage and separation. Charged particles moving through this electric field act as projectile motion.

Thank you for this! We had a question on our midterm using 3 parallel plates and I fumbled my way through it getting most partial credit but still didn't really understand it. Drawing the individual fields of each plate makes it so much clearer. thank you!!!

Sir why Individual plates will have diagonal electric field direction.
Won't their perpendicular components cancel out in opposite direction.
