Takeaway: I'm SO happy they changed it, and wrote up that announcement! This is awesome for those of you that use Audacity as your primary DAW. Me? I'm still leaving it uninstalled for now (it's not my primary DAW). Reaper remains my go-to recommendation for low-cost podcasting DAWs.

I rarely connect my laptop to internet and i've not updated the audacity app (i have ver. 3.0 ) so i should uninstall it or not?

Hey thanks for this!!! I haven’t used audacity in a while but I’m getting ready to start a podcast so I’m switching to GarageBand i guess

Just don't upgrade to version 3. Or go offline before starting the program? There are already 2 forks available, Audacium and Tenacity
