I was knocked off a surfboard in the SW Gulf of Mexico surfing a rivermouth by a Great Hammehead my friend saw (he was paddling out and about 30 feet away and he said it was at least 18 feet long and big enough to eat me ! Absolutely massive ....All I saw was his fins swimming away hitting me from beneath and knocking me 3 feet out of the water. Missed my legs by like maybe 6 inches and destroyed my surfboard ! Most terrified and small I've ever felt ...and I was 5'9" and weighed 220 lbs at the time ! Swimming back to the beach afterwards across a deep channel was an experience I'll never forget ! If your wondering...I grabbed another board and went back out an hour later figuring if I didn't...I'd never surf again and the odds of getting hit twice are astronomically high ! Didn't get hit again but didn't catch many waves either because of being in shock !

You forgot to add the most important thing about hammers: theyre enangered and they have cells in thier skin that make them tan that are resistant to melanoma. So by protecting and reasearching them, we could not only save them from extiction but also possibly find an actual cure for cancer. Hammerhead best doggo shork bork 😊

I can verify that they will eat other sharks as about a 14 footer just about ate a tiger shark I had just caught in the Florida Keys. I was able to pull the tiger out just in time!
