For those who didn't know, the sound isn't edited; it always comes naturally with that beast around.

Sharks and I have a mutual understanding: I stay out of their water, and they stay off my lawn.

The Tarpon is enormous and it's dwarfed by this Great Hammerhead.

Wildlife and fisheries ecologist here: in case anyone wants to know, that would most likely be the Great Hammerhead species of hammerhead sharks, which have been known to get up to over 6 meters long and almost 1, 000 lbs. Easiest way to identify them is by their HUGE dorsal fin compared to other hammerhead sharks (fin on top of the body). Hope this was interesting!

That beast deserves that song. Has an orchestra follow him all day

John Williams single-handedly gave a
100 million year old species their theme song for the rest of eternity.

One of my grandfather's many decades ago lost an ongoing war with a massive hammerhead shark. At the time he lived on an island with his family and had to deal with potentially dangerous animals (northern Australia so there were lots). A particularly big hammerhead was hanging around the main beach around the same time each year and was considered a threat to the dogs and kids.
After multiple normal attempts he resorted to using big hooks made by a blacksmith and wire line attached to a 44 gallon drum and half of a feral goat as bait. In the morning the only thing left was the broken rope that the drum had been tied to. He made many similar attempts over the years, always upping the game but the shark won every time.

Back in 1983 I was a part of a Royal Naval task group and we stopped at Ascension Island in the mid Atlantic. It was a very hot day and the skipper said the ships company could do a hands to bathe. Basically the ship was anchored and after putting cargo nets over the side if you fancied it you could go for a swim. Always great in the Mediterranean when we were there.
In case someone got into difficulty a 24 foot sea boat was lowered into the sea to assist. This was a standard boat for frigates and destroyers in the RN.
There were about 100 guys ready to go in when a large shadow appeared under the sea boat. Moments later this 'huge' shark appeared. Naturally at first we all thought it was a Great White but when it came alongside the sea boat it was clear it was a massive hammerhead shark. This thing was right next to the sea boat so the scale was easy to work out. We reckoned it was at least 26ft.
Nobody went for a swim and if we had only gone in moment's before it could have been a tragic outcome.
To this day, or until I saw this video, I thought it was just a freak of nature, we all did at the time. So unless there is a sub species' of Hammerhead sharks then they certainly grow bigger than scientists realise.

I was an underwater welder in the Gulf of Mexico in the 90's. We encountered some amazing things out there. And when you're working on the ocean floor, it's not like being in the woods. You can't hear them coming up behind you. And diving all through the night, but you can only see as far as your light beam goes. Never saw a Hammerhead this big but did have some close encounters with some big Tigers

John William’s Jaws theme, when used correctly, illustrates the terror of being hunted by a giant shark better than any other music written. This video sent chills up my spine.

I was in the United States Coast Guard in 1978 in the Florida Keys on a 17’ boat and a Hammerhead shark swam beside us about a foot under the water surface and this shark was larger than our boat!! It could have tipped us over if it wanted to!! These sharks get to massive sizes!!

As a former commercial diver who used to dive around fish pens/Shark bait, I still get a feeling of nervousness just looking at these ocean monsters.

Around WW2 there was a hammerhead that cruised the ocean between Cuba and the Florida Keys. The locals called this shark "old Hitler" because it was so big they thought it was a U boat from Germany cruising around till they got a closer look and realized it was a shark. Real life sea monster.

Many of you may not realize this, but if you swim in the ocean there is a very good chance that there are sharks of all kinds swimming right next to you and you'll never know it. I used to work at a Search and Rescue squadron on the east coast. My first time out in the helo we did a beach sweep. There were literally sharks everywhere. Near mom and dad holding their child's hands, the surfer and swimmers. Clearly man were large hammer heads. I piped up on the intercom to ask if there was anything we should do. "Nope, it's like this all of the time!". I never went back into salt or brackish water. Not to this day 30 years later.
