As a current iPhone user (1 personal and 1 for work), I've been looking at the light phone 2 for a while to replace my personal device... and then i found the Wisephone, and thought, I'll give that a shot. I like the "idea" behind it, but since the release of the light phone 3, AND your video, I've been awakened to why I've been wanting a "lighter" phone in the first place! I immediately cancelled my Wisephone 2 preorder, and ordered the light phone 3 on the spot. Thank you for the inspiration.

Hello since you encouraged me to ask a question I am going I would like a simple basic phone that I could watch YouTube and preferably a touch screen with a qwerty board or even a slide key board for texting does this exist? I just found out the cat 22 was discontinued it seemed like the closest thing. Thank you. This is a neurological I'm trying to minimally use and reduce electrical interaction but still have GPS, easy voice text etc... My current phone feels very charged even with a hedron equalizer, screen block and glasses... Thank you

Excellent video that gets to the heart of why minimal “dumb” phones are appealing. Im sick of researching dumb phones for everyone to be directed at kids and for parental control. The light phones appear to be about taking back our lives from the monster that is digital ease.

You expressed exactly why the Light Phone appealed to me when I discovered it some months back. I'm an artist, and I've always been a little strange, and this little square thing speaks to the eclectic, artsy personality in me. I didn't know they made a new edition until today, and it irritates me how people have complained about the price, but not investigated the reasoning. The blog post on the production schedule, the steps taken for the phone's design, the materials chosen, etc. all point to the fact a pre order now would be *investing* in its mass production. You mentioning tinkering in the garage, they have to make these first ones by hand before moving on the final release. That's special stuff! Plus, a metal frame built to last? Yes, please! I currently have a Unihertz Titan because that was the best reviewed phone with a keyboard (I missed my blackberry), very odd design, people always ask me if it's a real phone and not a TV prop, just my personality. But when it goes, Light Phone here I come! I literally use my phone for texting, calling, navigating, notes, sound recording, and some photos. I don't use most of my apps because I've never been phone addicted, just lazy sometimes and don't wanna wait til I get to my laptop/desktop to check stuff.
