800$ is mental sorry but for such a ”simple” device I’d expect a way lower Price. I mean You’reasking people to change a habit of using a phone by making them pay a phone price. There’s android phones out there (Nothing phone) That is a Beast for like 200-500$

It's evolving into a smart phone. It's like reliving the history:
- You create a calling device
- Add messages
- Add calendar
- Add Music
- Add snake game or tetris
- Add camera
- Add color to screen
- Add internet features (browser, email in a light non distractive modes like reading view, no adverts)
- Add AI that let's you keep away from distractions

I love that this company doesn't categorically say no to modern tech but instead tried to see what is essential for a phone to be in ones life but not take over. It'd be hard for me to choose this but I really hope it goes well!

I understand the vision and implementation of the LPIII. I get it! A flashlight, a camera, a more responsive screen, on-and-on - it's a great direction and I encourage all those on the design team that they've done a fantastic job progressing the tech while remaining aligned to LP principles. That said, I adore my LPII so much I can't imagine "moving on" from it. My only wishlist item is personal ringtones, and that's a miniscule price to pay for such an enormous quality-of-life improvement the LPII has provided me.

I didn't realize how much I valued having a camera on my phone until we had to put our cat down. I was on a flip phone the last 2 years of her life, and I have many photos of her from my smartphone days prior (and my wife took many photos those last 2 years as well).

It's the little things you don't even think about when wanting to ditch the smartphone until it's "too late."

I have used the Light Phone II as my daily driver for over a year now, and it seems like the updates made for the Light Phone III are a natural progression without abandoning your vision.  It appears that the largest change is the addition of the camera which, when used as a tool, should still allow the overall experience to be freeing.  

I am a photographer and videographer by trade, and disconnecting from the digital world at the end of the day is a necessity for me. Thank you for what you do.

Thanks so much to the light phone team. I've had the light phone 2 for 3 years and I can be fully focused on my young kids. The light phone 3 is adding everything I wanted, bigger phone, flashlight and camera. It's been pre ordered and I can't wait!

I agree that the price is too expensive, it should stay at around $399. What people do not realise however, is that by investing in such a device, they are getting back something much more valuable; their time on this planet.
