Using the Directions tool in GPS mode for extended periods of time (~35 mins, depending) will begin to make the device warm and have a significant impact on battery life. When the E-Ink screen's built-in thermometer gets warm, the screen slows down as a precaution to prevent damage, and this can cause the tool and phone to become much less practical to use, or hardly usable at all after enough time, situation depending.

Please consider switching to Offline mode in the tool's settings or using a standalone GPS navigation device for such long trips.

I had a Light phone for a little over a year and stopped using it because I accidentally dropped it in a cup of green tea (yeah it’s not water proof 😂). I wouldn’t trade the lessons I learned from my significantly less screen time and being a little but more off grid, but it did make it a lot harder on my friends to communicate with me. That was the main reason that I didn’t get another one and have gone back to my smart phone. Great experience though and a great company 🙏🏼

Well i have my iPhone kinda setup like that, i have a digital free time everyday between 13-18:00 everyday and also for every whole Saturday. I have made a focus that would only allow me to use 5 apps which is Clock, Spotify, Phone, Camera and Weather.

Lightphone 3 looks promising. I just want to be able to replace their messages for Google Messages (because RCA), maps with Google maps (better navigation), and music for YouTube Music(I have no new music since 2012) while still being limited to the number of apps. Maybe I just need to make my own "dumb phone."

Light Phone 3 coming out soon. Going to be better since theyre switching to AMOLED so you dont have the same screen refresh issues that e-ink had. Battery capacity has been doubled as well. We'll see what the reviews of that one are like. Problem is the price is more than doubling. ☠️
