ABOUT MIAMI VICE:
Starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas, created by Anthony Yerkovich and produced by Michael Mann, "Miami Vice" focused on the Miami Police Department's vice squad and its efforts to end drug trafficking and prostitution. Centered on the unlikely partnership of Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs - who first meet when Tubbs is undercover in a drug cartel - the series ran for five seasons on NBC, from 1984 to 1990. It was both influenced by and a great influence on the popular culture of the time, making use of new wave and other current music as well as introducing the U.S. to the colorful and laid-back styles of Italian men's fashion.

As someone who was a teenager in the 80's....Miami Vice was the epitome of drama, style, and music we all loved. 😎👍

“Can it wait??? I’m a little busy right now.” I fell in love with this show after that dialogue!!

I remember being 5 and watching this on NBC in the Fall of 1984 (showing my age. lol).

All these years later, still gives the same goosebumps.

Have the complete box set and find myself still watching.

Amazing show that will continue to stand the test of time as one of the greatest shows of the 80s!

Nothin like a sawed off double barrel shot gun. I also was a 80s kid. Absolutley loved this television series. The cars, the women, the atmophere. The air tonight. I just loved the 80s im general. Miss those days.

Such a contrast between dark and gritty NYC to sunny and colorful Miami.

Tubbs saw the "Punks" coming a mile away. Probably way before they got 100ft to his car. Put the car window down real cool-like. ...." Can't it wait?!!!
....I'm a little busy right now." Can't get enough of that scene and background song.

The Genius Michael MANN made all of this possible, just like his amazing films, such as, for one, "Band of the Hand."

I love this show. They even nicknamed it “MTV COPS.” I wish that they brought it back in a new way.

Best Crockett quote:
My badge says Miami Lou, but lately it's been looking a lot like Disney World.

Sorry, but this is exactly how it all happened..."Miami Vice" w/Crockett & Tubbs was so incredibly well done that it actually put Miami FL back on the tourist map. This one TV series did that. I wouldn't have missed watching it every friday night for the world. We vacationed there for 2 weeks & loved every minute. I own many episodes & Don Johnson will never be kicked outta my bed!

The only show airing in bermuda, worth watching; soaps bold, not beautiful, young, not restless. News. Lights out. Color Guard TV.

Glad I bought the complete series on ebay. I love this show, I'm so Ole Skool. Miami Vice Crockett and Tubbs are two of the most sexiest men I ever seen 😍❤😍

20 years ago I originally bought the faux alligator skin white DVD boxed set. At the time it cost $125 and the quality and presentation were very good but a few years ago they remastered it on BluRay and my son bought it for me for Christmas and I re-watched one episode side-by-side, one on DVD and the other on BluRay just to see the difference and it was much better. It wasn't as good as if it were shot today but was still very good. The BluRay 'HD' version has a simple paper box but the whole set only cost around $40 compared to the $125 the original DVD boxed set cost. When it first came out in the 90's the same DVD boxed set cost around $250 !

Interesting fact: 'Calderone' (Miguel Piñero) actually wrote one the best episodes of the series, Smugglers Blues. Miguel appeared in three episodes of Vice, twice in season one as drug trafficker 'Esteban Calderone', and once more in the season two opener, The Prodigal Son, as the New York drug kingpin 'Esteban Revilla'. In both episodes he was shot and killed. Miguel appeared in three of my favorite episodes. I have other favorites but these three are definitely among them. Miguel was an amazing writer and his untimely death in 1988 of liver disease was a big loss. Miguel Piñero helped make Miami Vice the success it was and he is greatly missed :>\
