The "squint your eyes" made me remember how in highschool I'd remove my glasses whenever I could when I was sketching cause it helped me forget the details and focus on the overall shape instead

25:10 - 25:40 bruh, i've been digi painting for a long ass time and im 150% stealing that maneuver. Selecting by color range then duping around the little shapes you get, the way you do it there is just * chefs kiss * so damned well done.

I love your rant about using references. It's so true. I really don't get the whole idea about not using it. Like, if you were to draw an animal like a lion or an elephant realistically and didn't know how to, you wouldn't be able to. You'd have to look up reference. Heck even artists like Aaron Blaise uses reference all the time.

I learnt a lot, i dont know if this is something like the foundation people get in art school, but, for me, a normal guy who enjoy digital drawing was a huge step in the right direction, is not like my results improved a lot, but i can get my usual results much more quick and comfortable. Man you have no idea how much this free class helps people like me who have to do the entire game, from character and scenario creation, to game programming, marketing, and more. And the tutorial is super good especially for people who are starting with digital painting.
