The joke about him working till he's 90 is even better because they brought back rdj for dr doom

There *IS* a cheeky acknowledgement that people consider it to be the epitome of "Marvel humor", Deadpool's very next line is "welcome to the MCU, you're joining at a low point."

I feel like you didn’t understand the “he’s right behind me” bit.

Usually the joke is realising someone you’re bad mouthing has shown up behind you. Deadpool literally brings Wolverine there, steps in front of him, bad mouths him, and THEN says “he’s right behind me isn’t he?”. The joke is, he of course knew he was behind him, he was always behind him.

As a 26 year old, i find it very funny that every 26 year old talks like they're jaded and near retirement.

The narrative wasn't super compelling but this movie was the most fun I've had watching something MCU in years so im completely satisfied lol

To be fair, It was likely in Ryan Reynold's contract "Please, for the love of god, don't even acknowledge TJ Miller"

I honestly liked that Wolverine never seemed fully changed his thoughts on Deadpool by the end of the film. It felt realistic to me, especially for how the characters are portrayed in the film. He was never gonna like Deadpool’s inability to shut up, but he has a higher tolerance for it now, which I think makes sense. I have friends that get on my nerves sometimes too. They spent a few days with each other at best, and I liked that the movie considered that aspect at the end and went about their growing relationship with that and their characters in mind.

Schaffrillas continues to delay the inevitable Megamind Rules Season 2 review. I can’t say I blame him.

6:03 “Big budget fan tribute to Wolverine and the larger Fox movies as a whole”

That’s literally the movie and there’s nothing wrong with that

While the execution of the story is somewhat jumbled, I do think that there's a solid and shockingly cohesive message behind it that ties in really well with the whole meta-narrative regarding Fox's superhero movies and the MCU. Ultimately, it's a story about ones legacy. Deadpool wanting to save his universe is just as much, if not more, about wanting to save the story that was told in Deadpool 1 and 2, rather than it being "thrown away" because it won't serve the MCU canon.

His desperate need to be a hero, and his failure to join the Avengers at the start of the film is meant to signify the different perceptions that people had towards a Fox superhero movie and a Disney/Marvel superhero movie, back when they were separate entities at least. The latest entry in the MCU was an event, their heroes were idolized, where as Fox movies were much more uneven, partly due to lacking that sort of "team-up" that Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds so desperately wanted with the X-Men/Wolverine/Hugh Jackman.

It wasn't just the jokes that were meta, the purpose and heart of the movie itself, also relies on it. The movies by Fox were a mixed bag, but it shouldn't be something that's just thrown away and forgotten. It won't work with everybody considering that some of the material being referenced is 20+ years old at this point, but I do think that the message about legacy shines through and that the performances especially capture the gravitas of what's at stake. The credits showing behind the scenes footage just further solidifies it.

Saying this movie is uninteresting is wild 😭

By no means is this movie a storytelling gem, but goddamn is it fun, and you can tell everyone was passionate about it from start to finish

While the first deadpool was described as a romance movie, and the second as a family movie, the third falls in line by being a somewhat meta take on what it means to be a superhero movie. Or in deadpools case, a "real" superhero movie. And thay comes with the baggage of deeming some superhero movies as unworthy, not good enough to continue existing. The disney heads labeling them as unprofitable. But those heros are still people in deadpools world. They have stories to tell and desverve to have a home. So he undoes the notion that the mcu is some kind of holy standard, showing all these movies are worthy. A superhero movie isn't defined by the box office, but by the heroes within them. And that should be how we look at the genre today

Deadpool broke up with Vanessa because he felt that she didn't see him as 'good enough' for her.

Thats why he tried to join the avengers, so that he could be a 'real hero' and feel adequate for this woman hes sacrificed so much for. It's a really sweet and human tale, i feel bad for both sides.

It's funny that Schaff didn't like the plot when it's VERY similar to the plot of Moana

Two small corrections: Yes Deadpool did indeed say "Welcome to the MCU" after "He's right behind me isn't he", so that line definitely had intent behind it. The connection between those two lines could've been stronger, but at least it was indeed intentional. And Colossus DID have a line about Great British Bake Off, my bad I forgor

To quote metaldermis5755: "You don't go into Deadpool expecting a narrative masterpiece, you go in expecting fun. And they absolutely delivered on that front."

I'm pretty sad that of all characters from the second movie they didn't bring back Russell. He was the driving force behind Wade's emotional growth and learning to let other people into his life and dammit it was pretty wholesome.

I do believe the jokes about "the woke mob" and "getting cancelled" were ironic, or at least that's how they sounded to me.
