Sick as in ill not like that was awesome... conditions were mellow and we did get to sail for several hours but I caught whatever Garrett caught and around sunset it started to take me down. We left Ensenada and made it to San Quintin to ride out some gnarly swell systems. One more anchorage further south! 👍

Thanks for watching!

p.s. I try and reply to as many comments as I can but we are still so so busy so please do not take it personally 💕

Much love!!!

There is no greater feeling of contentment than shutting off that motor and just hearing the sound of the wind in the rigging and water along the hull. Peace.

"One day we'll be sitting in the Caribbean drinking margaritas!" There a lot of days before to make that one day possible and many days after to make possible the next day of relaxing.
I sat on a white sand beach looking at the different shades of blue waters, sipping a drink, taking in the sun and thought, is this it? Now what? It's just sand and water, this is boring. But I can still picture that time and more I remember the journey of getting there. Sailing a small boat across open waters, be dependant on just providence and myself. The truly best part was having someone along to share it with. I've done it alone and I've shared it. Both are fantastic but it is infinitely and slightly better shared.
All I wanted was the journey and the next, the destination was just a waypoint on the chart. The adventure the unpredictable, uncontrollable and seemingly insurmountable happenings along the way. There is nothing in my humble opinion better than exploring. The geography, history, people, the environment around ourselves. And no more meaningful way of doing so than by boat, car, bike or foot. Truly one day, one day to sit and simply take it in, be at peace. I can do that any day, I can do that when I can do nothing else.
One day then let's get moving. There is never lacking of things that need doing, things to see, learn and practice.

Save all your small scraps of wood and spend some time carving a bit, offer the results as merch. Create some videos in a tutorial series and offer them behind a paywall for passive income.
One day and then you ask yourself, what's next. Does Garrett become a travelling shipwright, repairing boats in exotic locations? Have you created the means to travel as long as you wish?
It's funny how that vision of one day is what we justify our perseverance with. Yet really it's the journey we are most motivated by. The challenge, the experience, the opportunity. The results are what they are, it's the possibilities before the results that are exciting and worthwhile.
Forever onward for you both with fair winds and following seas. Thank you for sharing this entire adventure with us, hopefully it is slightly and infinitely more rewarding for you as well.

So sorry that you both caught “The Goobies” ! Ruth, your eyes gave your tiredness and sickness in plain view. Hardly nothing worse than being ill at sea with long shifts facing each of you. Your boat looks so comfy down below!

When you see a Cruise Liner like that radio them and get them to announce who you are to the passengers so they "have something happen" and then some of them might follow you. If they don't know you exist then they won't.

I've been a lifelong liveaboard from childhood till now. From beautiful wooden sailing classics to multihulls now. I really appreciate your journey, your boat, and your values. Here in the bahamas, we enjoy living off of Mother Natures blessings when possible and do appreciate your respect for the fish you caught and released because you had enough to eat onboard already. Well done. As are your videos, safe sailing, and all the best.

I just finished reading Gerr’s book about home-building a pocket yacht and now I am UBER impressed with your construction journey; I have a much better idea about the ton of work you’ve put in to get her floating. Well done sir! Well done ma’am!

9 nautical miles off shore, on Your way South, is a shelf, rising up to a flat undersea. Medium waves use that shelf to make one big one, rarely. Get well, soon. Donna

As you know, the storm you (semi) beat was just the start of the next 3 weeks of constant ARs

The water is still brown from all the mud washed down the arroyos. The creeks are still flowing 4 days after the biggest storm of all monday
