This was a very good demonstration of the valve differences. my shut off valve to my house won’t stop the flow completely so that I can do plumbing repairs and changes. I am sure the rubber seat washer is worn out. So using your information I want to replace it with a ball valve. What are your thoughts on homeowner use of brass compression fittings instead of solder connections. It will be much easier for me to replace the whole house shut off valve outside the house without having to solder the connections.

Hello I have a question about a 25mm Outlet with WaterMarked Brass Ball Valve at our home
. The tank outlet is located near the bottom of the watertank where collected rainwater flows out. The threads are BSP type, and the default outlet is 25mm. Want to attached a water facet to the outlet valve for watering the garden (does not have any other water outlets for direct use) it that possible? If u could let me know, I would be so thankful
