If you have more storage space, you can go as high as 40gb. I just set my max parameters to 40000-40000 and it has allocated 40gb of vram, this is really good on a gaming pc with a decent ssd. I have a 265gb ssd so i am allocating 40gb to my pagefile w/8gb of physical ram so it is 5x the output. I run my games off of my 500gb external ssd so it doesn't impact my pc btw

It's best to let windows manage virtual memory automatically and just add more physical ram to your system.

This is poor advice. Do read the RAM articles by Sysinternals Mark Russinovich. The paging file is quite slow and does not delete any data stored when closing your PC (unlike the RAM) and can pose a security risk and should be cleared every time your PC closes. A paging File does not have the same speed as the Physical RAM it uses an spinner HDD or a SSD both of which have poor performance compared to the physical RAM. If you are accessing the PF on a regular basis then it usually means that you do not have enough RAM - 16GB is enough for most general users.

Hi with 16gb of ram and same procedure I have to multiply your parameters?

Only do this if you're PC is running slow as a turtle due to low RAM as changing this could impact the system's stability and you should have mentioned this is taking HDD capacity and using it as virtual paging memory.

If you do this on all your storage drives, how you do it?

Is this also applicable for w8 or not ?

It's not increasing. What can I do now?

But it does NOT increase RAM - it is already an integral part of the Windows OS and was peimarily designed fpr the 32-bit Windows OS. I still think it is poor advice even for older PCs.
Fom Mark Russinovich the Windows Sysinternals guru:
"How Big Should I Make the Paging File?
Perhaps one of the most commonly asked questions related to virtual memory is, how big should I make the paging file? There’s no end of ridiculous advice out on the web and in the newsstand magazines that cover Windows, and even Microsoft has published misleading recommendations. Almost all the suggestions are based on multiplying RAM size by some factor, with common values being 1.2, 1.5 and 2. Now that you understand the role that the paging file plays in defining a system’s commit limit and how processes contribute to the commit charge, you’re well positioned to see how useless such formulas truly are.
