George RR Martin Gives Update On Winds Of Winter Progress!

Game of Thrones mastermind George R. R. Martin confirms that some progress is being made on the next A Song of Ice and Fire novel The Winds of Winter.

Winds will never release, if it does it will be because George has passed away and someone else has finished the story after his passing.

I saw another video that went into more detail on this topic. His post goes into more detail about all the other things he's doing that isn't Winds of Winter. He's got way too much on his plate to really do much work on actually finishing the series that all these other books and shows are based on. It's a long shot to think WoW is going to be finished in his lifetime. A Dream of Spring won't be done unless someone else writes it.

Inspite of everything I STILL trust Martin and see where he is coming from. It is clear that he wants to fully establish and complete the lore and history of Westeros and the world he created before completing the main book series. I personally think it would be awkward and anticlimactic if the side projects were completed after the main book series was already over and that he really wants to get that off his chest before he continues writing the most critical moments of the series.
