Why do we even have to deal with politics at work? Im there to get money and support my family. I don’t have the mental capacity to deal with such wasteful things.

As a former EA to the General Counsel of a Fortune 100.... Never assume they have time to dedicate to you and your questions. Often they don't even take their lunch breaks unless they're mandatory working lunches. Build relationships with them!!! Bring them a coffee when you get yours, grab their docs off the printer for them, support their contributions/projects - simply put: be an ALLY if you want them to be yours.

Make yourself as indispensable as possible so you can't be fired without severely hurting the company's capabilities. Proceed to ask very tough questions in meetings and challenge executives (for example, blanket return to office policies with zero logic).

- co-operative

What??? Within a week or 2 Take the executive assistants out and ask them about people??? WRONG!!! You don’t know who’s connected to whom. Those executive assistants are likely to go back and tell them execs you’re nosy, and a gossiper. No way! Usually love your advice but this one might get you more trouble than it’s worth.

You have two channels, Official Channels and Unofficial Channels. Learning to navigate both is CRUCIAL to your success at work. While you ALWAYS need to watch your back, make sure your reputation is as good as it can be. 😉👍✨

Also can be labeled as white office culture, where this comes more naturally to those who grew up in “white spaces”and played golf, watches baseball, watches Game of Thrones, etc
