"Your silence serves no one," says the writer, activist and self-proclaimed professional troublemaker. In this bright, uplifting talk, Ajayi Jones shares three questions to ask yourself if you're teetering on the edge of speaking up or quieting down -- and encourages all of us to get a little more comfortable with being uncomfortable.

"In a world that wants us to whisper, I choose to yell!" What a beautifully simplistic manifesto.

"When it's time to say these hard things:
1. Did you mean it?
2. Can you defend it?
3. Did you say it with love?"

I’m reading her book Professional Trouble Maker now and she mentions how she tried to talk herself out of this TedTalk but did it anyway. So proud of her!

I love how she conducted this session. Perfect amount of humor, references and inspiration. The topic has been spoken about often, but her delivery of the topic was rather convincing and was very relatable.

1. Do you mean it
2. Can you defend it
3. Did you say it with love

3 questions to always keep in mind when speaking up about something.

"When the world expects us to be silent, we choose to yell because getting uncomfortable can only guarantee our comfort." I'm truly inspired, thanks Jones.

As someone who's always concerned what other people think, her words were really empowering, I aspire to be her. To be like her is like a paradox, give zero fqs to opinions, but care so much on other's needs

wow, this talk is one of the greatest one that I clicked on Youtube.
Her message seems obvious but somehow it hits me deeply because in the past I was kind of speaking the truth even it hurt me terribly.
The checkpoint that she mentioned is also very important before we speak out loud
1. Did you really mean it?
2. Can you defend it?
3. Did you say it with love?
This can help us to say truthfully without offending others.

Her speech is so encouraging that I start to try to define myself to the fear.
