♥ Frequently Asked Questions ♥

Q: Do you do these spreads after the week is over?
A: I always film myself creating these spreads before the week has started and continue to fill it out during the week. I collect the footage at the end of the week and do my voiceover which is why everything I say is in past tense! I always prefer to plan ahead~

Q: How do you use so many planners at the same time?
A: Every week, I choose a few planners for me to use so I’m not actually using ALL of my planners every single week! For example, I always choose a planner for me to take on the go, one for academics, one for business, and one that is more decorative and fun. Part of what I do is showcasing spread ideas so that is why I have so different layouts!

Q: How did you learn your lettering?
A: This is a pretty annoying answer but...practice practice practice! I didn’t use a book or a single resource to learn. I honestly just picked up on the different types of lettering through my daily life (things like book covers, posters, etc.) and practiced whenever possible!!!

When i'm like: " Yes, i'm gonna write this pretty."
* after this *
* exhausted just by writing one word *

I’ve noticed how my writing changes with different pens and tip sizes.
I also switch the cases when I write (upper/lower), but I’m more formal when I type/text than when I print/write, even mixing between cursive/print letters.

in my opinion, we always think other people's handwriting are prettier than our own 🤣🤣🤣

Practice is literally everything. I always feel like I forgot how to write if I haven't written much for over 3 days

Quick Tip: Write your notes in school using a PENCIL because of limited time.
When you have more time at home, you can use a pen for your aesthetic notes!

I do the same thing with ignoring uppercase/lowercase rules when writing notes! I find it to be visually interesting and it can keep me in the moment of writing a word or thought.

Loved this handwriting video!
I have a friend who only writes in Caps.
Non-stationery ppl don't understand that there are many variables to consider when writing. For me, the neatness depends on my mood, the pen I use, how long & how fast I need to write down the information and where I am writing it. That's why I have so many different pens.
The "correct" way to hold a pen is almost the way you are going to click your fingers with your thumb and index gripping the pen while the top rests in bn the curve of the index & thumb with your 3rd finger supporting the pen from below. It's called a tripod grip.

I think one good way to start if you want to change your style is to just change one letter at a time. I started with curling my lowercase g's and y's in elementary school, and never made any changes until middle school where I started trying things like crossing my q's and changing around my uppercase Y's. And then in high school, I added a few things to my l's, t's, and s's and I practiced for like 8 months to add those to my normal handwriting. It's a slow process but whoever is reading this, you got this!!

I love my handwriting the most when I write names and words like Alexander, Communication, England, Shakespeare, Volkswagen and Heinrich 😁

The speed vs neatness thing is sooo real. I was self teaching handlettering and after perusing all these YouTube videos, there was a lettering in real time video and it shook me how slow it took to write 😂
Thanks for the upload! Have a great week 😀

Always loved your handwriting so much ❤️ also omgsh thank u for including the bit about speed vs. neatness and showing an example of your messier notes (they were still quite neat af but also noticeably different) - I feel like most handwriting improvement videos give the impression that ✨this perfect writing is just how I write ALL THE TIME✨ without acknowledging that sometimes it does change a bit when writing in a more real-world situation of note taking 🥲
(Also +1 on the mixing of uppercase and lowercase letters when writing casually in print lol 😂)

I find changing the way I hold the pen makes a big difference in my writing/printing. You can play around with that too to see if you like that style better.

Thank you for this valuable video. After working at an office for 15 years, I realized that I have messy handwriting. Until discovering bullet journal that's when I take my time writing and try to develop own style. Taking reading notes does help as well with writing.
