As someone who works with fonts, I think it'd be cool to have the JetPens handwriting as a font.

I've been practicing my writing skills since I was 10. I love this font. My current style is all letters are the same height and it has changed how neatly I write. However people should understand that every day writing is not ever going to be a pretty as when the letters are made with conscious effort. Also don't beat yourself up if your letters aren't perfect from the start. I also suggest writing the alphabet and circling letters that need work. Concentrate on those letters until you're happy with them.

You can write legibly without focusing on all of these details and analysis by simply finding a comfortable writing tool for your preferred grip. I helped medical students accomplish this by watching them write and then offering suggestions for optimal writing instruments based on grip, the pressure applied, and how they positioned their body and the writing surface. Hopefully JetPens will next feature a video showing how varied are the grips, pressure, and paper position of their employees when writing -- and writing to someone can be far more motivating than practicing the same sentence over and over.

After writing 180, 000 words in under a year my handwriting went from illegible to actually pretty when I actually try. Even going full speed it is actually nice looking.

been mimicking your style lately and it’s safe to say that people are impressed with it. My older sis, who hated my handwriting, was recently impressed by how neat it was.

I feel like the modified O and U shapes are key to what makes people’s handwriting look aesthetically pleasing (aside from general, sizing and kerning). Great video

You're wonderful! Thank you for showing us🎉 I am also blown away by individuals like yourself that can just change penmanship & copy different fonts. Something I've struggled with. Thank you for this breakdown. I feel I could do this ! ❤

Omg this answers so many of the questions I didn't know how to ask when it came to making my writing neater.

I need more Amelia in these instructional type of videos. Something about her voice is perfect for it. It made me more engaged because it feels so inviting and fun 10/10 will watch again and I'll definitely be practicing my handwriting with those tools. Thank you Amelia!

I printed for a number of years, but recently went back to cursive when I read that it’s not being taught anymore and many young people just cannot read cursive. I glad I went back to cursive because it’s really fun too!

This is a better guide/tool than my teachers in middle, elementary, and summer school (between 2006 and 2014). They just say that my handwriting is messy and don't bother helping me.

I always admire this handwriting and glad to know who it belongs to.

Interestingly I've read similar advice about writing in Japanese... writing everything a little forward slanted, being mindful of spacing, keeping everything even and consistent etc. I liked this video and found it easy to understand :)

This is cool but if I start taking notes like this or writing essays, it’s gonna be like SpongeBob writing “THE”

I appreciate the logic behind the spacing in letters like a, d, u...adds to the motivating principles of legibility. At the end of the day, I just really struggle to keep the same energy from the first letter to the last. 😂 in my journals, it starts off really neat. But a paragraph later, depending on the shifting mood, it sizes up, sizes down, entangles letters, turns to clumsy cursives...and maybe once i realized it looks wonky, i consciously make my writing neater (interestingly stablizes my mood to be more objective or calm about what I'm writing too.)

This is absolute gold! The technical detail is just perfect.

Everyone would write perfectly in an ideal world where we have the time & environment when kids ... Sadly that is rarely the case.

Now it's up to us a adults to fight through the bad habits...

That said, examples shown are presentation standard so ... We should be kind to ourselves, and patient!

Noting the death-grip and slow speed of execution are a function of the precision achieved.

After practicing deliberately like this, real world legibility & esthetic will improve and hopefully not slow down too much.

For myself I need to get the thoughts out of my head FAST so... It ain't pretty!
