I moved from UK to Singapore. I’m doing the same job I always did at 3 times the salary and 1 third the taxes. I also get to see sunshine and I don’t get stabbed to death by illegal immigrants.

Inheritance tax is especially evil. "Sorry your parent/relative died and they did reasonably well, now pay up or we'll throw you in prison"

I am planning my families escape from the UK as we speak. I have lived here for 45 years and I never seen it so bad. Crime is rising exponentially with street stabbings, robbery, car theft and sexual assault at all time highs. Mean while they are releasing career criminals from prison so they can free up space in jail to incarcerate people who criticise the government regime - this is what dystopia looks like. Compounded by a police force that won’t even investigate some crimes because of a bizarre far left woke agenda. Millions of Brits are not even bothering to work any more, with an ever diminishing tax base paying for the millions who think work is above them. This is not a good place for a hardworking tax payer. The left wing "play book" says that anyone with a little money must be a crook or greedy or just a bad person. They forget that entrepreneurs are forward looking innovators who create jobs for people who pay tax. They create wealth and ultimately make economies more robust and resilient. I never thought 45 years ago that Britain would end up such a pathetic, whiny, lazy, envious, bitter country. It’s true they do hate us, so time to go.

UK government has severely dampened the interests of investors as well as high-income earners with punitive taxes. As a result, the exodus of wealthy skilled labor is inevitable.

Can someone adopt me so I can get out of this rotten place. The weather tops it all off. Why anyone wants to come here, God knows. It really is an asylum

It's impossible to get anywhere in the UK, the harder you work, the more risks you take, the more qualifications you get, the less you have, it's all about trapping people surviving from month to month, drowning in debt, the Torys and Labour are just the same, it's all about control. Rishi Sunaks anti-entrepreneur IR35 regulations ruined my business and dreams, now my new employers expect me to work six-seven days a weeks, taking work home and Labour want to tax every penny I earn out of me.
I'm not getting trapped, paid off the mortgage, doing loads of DIY, no debt, no car loan and still working on my ideas and filing patents in the US, I have options, I have a plan.

It’s not just high taxes but high cost of living…
So I was homeless 3 months ago… I went to the USA to live with friends and then came back to the UK…
The price of everything is so astronimical…
I wanted to rent a 2 bed in london which is £1500 a month PLUS bills and the landlord said they weren’t insured for me to work from home…
I took one flight to bangkok £350 and airbnb £450 and now travelling asia as it’s cheaper than being homeless in the uk!

There is no permanent ownership where government exists. Eventually they all turn to what we see in the UK. Keep moving as countries change policy if you can.

I am a dual citizen (South African and British), I was living in the UK for 4 years and I recently came back to South Africa for a few months to see what working remotely from here would be like. I know South Africa has extremely high taxes and you get nothing for it, but the housing prices are WAY better, the weather is WAY better, the people are much more friendly, the cost of living is much better overall.

Luckily my current job will let me work from anywhere (and I admit I am in South Africa because of the comfort of growing up here), but honestly with this new government in the UK and the elections in SA, I have more faith in the future of South Africa than the UK.

I am eying moving to El Salvador in the future though

I met someone (Italian) whose dream was to move to the UK and they absolutely love it. I have to laugh at their delusion.

I left last year due to the tax rates going up (even under Conservatives - if you can call them that) and it was the best decision I have ever made. I will never look back.

People have been fleeing UK taxes for over 100 years.
The latest iteration of tax increases just means that another layer of productive people will be leaving the UK to go to places where they will be treated better.

I am from the UK. I left 10 yrs. I have not looked back! I still keep some of the banking which is still efficient. But I am not looking to invest in UK for the near future.

I'm so happy I made productive decisions about my finances that changed forever. I'm a single mother living in Vancouver Canada, bought my first house in October and hoping to retire soon if things keep going smoothly for me.

The UK has plenty of money in their economy. The problem is the massive corruption bleeding the country dry. Every infrastructure project is billed at 10x to 20x the industry rate. Wheres the money going?.

The UK is basically stuck in a corner .. govt has created a system of benefits and public sector work that cannot be afforded, ... while completely lacking policies to encourage large revenue generating businesses to move to the UK.

Without massive investment and businesses moving to the UK .. the govt will just keep ramping up taxes off a smaller and smaller business base to pay for socialism.

Economic death spiral in 3 - 2 - 1 ...
