In this video I break down the essential fundamental techniques to learn reverb and utilize reverb to get incredible depth in your mix. I've been using this technique for years to create an incredible sense of depth in my mixes. Use this in any DAW, even though I'll be in Logic Pro X, feel free to take these fundamentals into any DAW and use any technique (even if you'e not using the depth matrix that I outline!)

Predelay is how big the room is or more precisely how close the source is to the walls, I don't think it make things closer

This is how I learned to think about it as well. However, what messes with my brain usually is generating depth with using very different Reverbs, I. E. When setting predelay on hall in the back, a room in the middle, and a plate in the front.
They all need totally different predelays to be convincing. Would you go by ear for this scenario? May be I am misunderstanding and it should be the opposite way around... 😅
