So i guess to make it more clear, its was 100s of dollars worth of expensive beans. He was asked multiple times not to eat them after he had already eaten them. Then he basically claimed whats yours is also mine. At that point, the price doesnt matter. The complete and utter lack of respect and of personal items is abhorrent.

Hold on. I don't like beans myself, but my sister LOVES them. She'll buy 3 or 4 types of dried beans, soak them in water for a few hours, then boil them with some ox tail. It's a big, half-day production. If someone were to come after all that and eat up her beans, I'm sure she'd be close to murder.

Guys, op talked to the roommate about the issue. The roommate should stop eating the guy's beans at that point but he didn't. It became a pattern. I wouldn't think to do something on that level to get back but I can understand why it's frustrating to have your expensive food eaten over and over. It's disrespectful
