Know Your Rights: ACS Interaction

Justice Initiatives at BPL is partnering with community organizations and agencies to produce a series of Know Your Rights workshops. This workshop will focus on the rights of New York families who are impacted by Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) investigations. We will discuss the rights of New Yorkers during ACS investigations, how parents can avoid barriers to employment after an investigation, and opportunities to support local advocacy to protect the rights of families.

The Family Defense Practice at Brooklyn Defenders has been representing parents and other caregivers in family court since 2007. Today, we are the primary provider of legal representation to parents facing the removal of their children in Brooklyn’s family court.
